Why to invest in the rotational bridge?

General health

Regardless of your movement goals, the rotational bridge is one of the most “bang for your buck” skill for general health. Whether we are sitting or standing, running or lifting weights, we spend most of our time hunched forward (sadly, most elderly people are living evidence of that).

The rotational bridge helps us counter the effects of this tendency and target multiple aspects of our posture in one single move. It incorporates shoulder flexion, spine and hip extension, as well as fine articulation of our whole body, from our wrists to our toes. This is what makes the rotational bridge one of the most time efficient and useful skills, and hence one of my go-to exercises for the majority of my clients, from professional athletes to my own parents.

Skill development

Bridge rotation can be found across many disciplines. It is one of the most basic ways to enter the backbend. It unlocks our ability to move backwards and allows us a 360-degree freedom of movement.

The rotational bridge is a fundamental skill to master before approaching soft acrobatics and can be a major contribution to any locomotion practice.

This course is very helpful for learning that rotational bridge pattern so dominant in soft acrobatics. Karin does an excellent job of laying out the material in short, informative videos for the beginner to easily follow. She also lays out progressions as well as modifications to either scale the movement up or down according to the individual’s needs. Can’t say enough about Karin’s programs and dedication to Making movement accessible and affordable to all.

What if I have spine injuries?

The rotational bridge actually serves as a major tool for relieving back pain and rehabbing spine injuries. Though it might initially sound counterintuitive, both arching and gentle articulations of the spine offer potent therapeutic properties.

If you are suffering from an injury, you might need to work with extra attention and stick to the first stages for longer periods of time. From my experience, you will be surprised to find that your spine feels better than ever and even healed, after merely several weeks of light practice.

My experience

I’ve been teaching the rotational bridge for over a decade now, to hundreds of people of all walks of life. From professional athletes to 60 and 70 year-olds - everyone works on the level they're at.

I have seen many people unlock new skills and freedom of movement, as well as multiple cases of spine injuries and persistent pain disappearing. I wholeheartedly believe that bridge rotation should be part of any and every training program, to some extent.

The course offers some advanced variations - that is not to say I suggest anyone should attempt them. The main goal of this course is to teach you how to work on the bridge safely, so you can enjoy its major health benefits, as well as enrich your movement practice.

Technical details

  • The course is structured as a series of videoclips available anytime and from any device. I applied all my teaching experience to keep them as short as possible, so you can focus on moving rather than watching.

  • In the tutorials, I will walk you through the different phases of the rotational bridge and guide you on incorporating them in your schedule.

  • The only equipment you will need is a broom stick and a wall.

  • The course will be available for unlimited use.

  • The course is nonrefundable.
